“Science is the universal heritage of mankind, and it is the right of all humanity to share it. Science is a tool for the progress of all humankind, transcending race, religion, and nationality.” I firmly believed that Third World countries should not be marginalized in scientific and technological development, and to this end, I dedicated my life to establishing the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) to provide research opportunities for scientists from developing countries. My efforts to unify the fundamental forces of the universe were central to my scientific life. The electroweak unification theory, which combined the electromagnetic and weak interactions into a single theory, was a significant step towards understanding the unity of nature. This discovery is also connected to my deep conviction to understand the beauty and order of the universe, God's creation.
