π History & Origin
Developed in the Southern United States as a versatile working farm dog, descended from the Old English Bulldog brought by immigrants. Used for catching feral hogs, guarding property, and herding cattle. Nearly extinct after WWII, but revived.

Muscular, powerful build. Two main types: Standard (more athletic, longer muzzle) and Bully (stockier, shorter muzzle). Short, dense coat, typically white or white with patches. Strong jaws, expressive face.
