π History & Origin
The Great Pyrenees is an ancient breed that has protected flocks and shepherds from wolves and bears in the Pyrenees Mountains, located on the border of France and Spain, for thousands of years. By the 17th century, they were so popular among nobility that they were designated as the official dog of the French royal court. With their unique gentleness and courage, they have faithfully performed their role as a livestock guardian dog.
