📜 Historical Perspective
In traditional palmistry of the past, the life line, as its name suggests, was directly connected to longevity. There was a strong tendency to interpret a long line as a long life, a short line as a short life, and a broken line as a time when a fatal accident or disease would occur. However, modern palmistry moves away from this fragmentary interpretation and views the life line as an indicator of the ‘quality and quantity of life energy’ of an individual. In other words, the interpretation has changed to symbolize the overall life energy, including innate physical strength, health, vitality, resilience, and will to life, rather than the length of the line determining lifespan. Now, a much more complex and in-depth analysis is being conducted, with a broken life line signifying a major turning point in life (immigration, major surgery, career change) rather than death, and a short line signifying a way of life that focuses energy on a specific area rather than lifespan.
