Origins & The Australian Desert Lore
Musgravite was discovered in 1967 in the remote, arid Musgrave Ranges of South Australia. Initially regarded as an obscure petrological anomaly, it was deemed impossible to find in gem quality. It wasn’t until 1993 that the first faceted, transparent specimen was identified from Sri Lankan gem gravels. By 2005, only eight cut stones had been verified by laboratories across the globe, elevating it to mythical status as one of the most unattainable gems ever cataloged.
